AJ support Sadio Cissokho at the Wycombe Academy

October 2010: Thanks to all our friends who turned out last October in time to see us play before Sadio and Adama took to the stage at the Wycombe Academy of Music and Arts. It turned out to be a great night as, once again, Kate and Steve joined us for the set. And thanks to Mike Jackson for shooting some video.

AJ play on the beach in Reading

You didn't know that Reading had a beach?  It did during this year's Outside Inside festival and on August 7th, 2010, AJ managed once again to dodge the showers and bring on the sunshine for Saturday afternoon shoppers at the Oracle Centre.  We were joined by a couple of our friends, too.  Kate Bruce and Steve Southall are both long time members of the Vitae Drummers.  Afterwards, Justine said that dancing on sand was one of the hardest things she has had to do.  Adding that her desperate pleas to Iggy, our lead drummer, to keep the dances short were completely misread and he made them longer instead.  Ouch.

AJ Join the Big Parade for the Roald Dahl Festival in Aylesbury

The last time we played in Aylesbury it was dark and cold.  This time, on July 3rd at the Roald Dahl Festival, the sun shone for us all.  There must have been thousands lining the route as the carnival wound its way from the church, down into Market Square and back again.  There was a big and noisy samba band up front, but that didn't bother us and each time the procession came to a stop it was the perfect excuse for Jean and Justine to dance for the crowds.  But the day didn't end there.  After the procession was over we were told to pick our spot in the square and play for just about as long as we wanted, and that's just what we did.  We like Aylesbury!

AJ help switch on the Aylesbury Christmas lights

[ Christmas scene in Aylesbury town centre |On Thursday 19th AJ braved the cold and played to Christmas shoppers in Aylesbury town centre as the lights were switched on, drawing crowds and adding to the town's festive mood in their own unique way.

Best Wishes for 2010 from all of us in the band!
